Some of the sport celebrities that i would like to compared with are Lee Yong-Dae and Yuna Kim. Lee Yong-Dae is a Korea famous badminton player while Kim Yuna is a famous figure skater.
Lee Yong-Dae is a model for a fashion line named First Player. Compared with Malaysia, i feels that other countries sport celebrities have more chance on getting endorse on those clothing. For Malaysia celebrity, they're more likely to just endorse on those sport equipment or drinks to get more energy while doing sports. But for celebrities in other countries, they get to try out endorse something that not really related to sport.

Other than Lee yong-Dae, another sport celebrity that i would like to compare with Malaysia is Yuna Kim, Queen of the Ice. According to research, her endorsement earning is $8m a year. Can you imagine that how a young girl at the age of 23 can earn so much just for endorsement? She is the best ice skater in the world. After she won gold medal for the previous olympic, her profile got even bigger, she now owns a sport management company. She have endorsed Samsung mobile phone, this is totally not related to sport, but then, i feel that Samsung company will let her endorse their phone is because she is famous and it will influence most of the Korean to buy their product. Also, compared with Malaysia, Korea celebrities have more opportunity to become an ambassador of different brand but not only specific in sport. Other than that, Yuna Kim have the chance to work with other korea artist. For Malaysia, they always just make it as individual endorsement but didnt think of how if can cooperate with different field of celebrities other than just sport celebrities.

From this, i can see the differences between Malaysia with Korea. Malaysia sport celebrity is just sport celebrity, they didnt think of how if make them become a sport celebrity which is like artist also. For Korea sport celebrity, they are not only looks like sport celebrity, but also like singer or artist like K-Pop celebrity. Everyone will follow their mind or follow their step just like how they follow those K-Pop singer. But for Malaysia, it will only make those who loves sport follow those specific sport celebrity but not like Korea.

Hi! just to kacau kacau abit. hahaha.
ReplyDeleteAbout the sport celebrity. I think the reason why Korean sports celebrities are like artists compared to local sportsmen is also partly because of the exposure in their media, giving them the opportunity to use the chance to show their charismatic sides. If you follows Korean shows in general, there are plenty of variety show as well as reality shows that guests sports celebrity. For example, one of the most famous variety show, Runningman. Park Jisung, a korean footballer that played for M.U was already well known because of his skill and what not. But however, he gained a new wave of fans thanks to his charismatic and witty personality in the show. The fact that they get the opportunity to guest in shows like this means that they can get constant media exposure if they want to (not just be mentioned in some 100plus drink commercial or during some epic famous competitions games =.=)
okai bye~ *flies off*
