Black-hat hackers and White-hat hackers

There are 2 types of "hackers":
1) Black-hat hackers
2) White-hat hackers

For my understanding, black-hat hackers is the one who will not stop on what they're doing, because they're the smart people who have no moral doubt on destroying computer infrastructure, they are so excited on penetrating system, bringing down network and take what does not belong to them, these action gave them so much "fun".
In the other hand, white-hat hackers is the one who break into systems that dont necessarily destroy them. They're also known as "good-hackers" or "ethical hackers", which means hackers that have moral value. White-hat hackers are the one who break into systems to point out security flows or bring attention to a cause.Their intention are not to damage the systems, but to do a public service. White-hat hackers hired by actual computer security company or government agencies. They have their jobs to do. Their jobs is to hack into company's network to find flaws, so that the company can prevent their information or system hacked by the black-hat hackers.

Other than that, i found out that Tim Berners-Lee Berners-Lee is undeniably a member of the white-hat hacking camp. He was once caught caught hacking to gain access to restricted areas when he studying in Oxford University. He moved on and built his own computer from spare parts.
Since his creation of the World Wide Web, Berners-Lee founded the World Wide Web Consortium at MIT.  Berners-Lee became the first holder of the 3Com Founders Chair at MIT, where he is a senior research scientist.

Besides, the concept of hacking entered the computer culture is at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the 1960s. From this, i can see that the history of "hackers" are actually have some relationship with MIT.

All about 'hackers'

In 1960's and 70's, hackers are actually used to describe someone working with computer who was technically genius. So, it can be said that hackers consider a professional job in that century and some of 'hackers' are invited to break into control computer systems.Hackers is also an unpaid security consultants, this is because most of the hackers enjoy to see through or read through the computer system, thus, they will realize that maybe there's something wrong with the software or attacked by bugs, hackers can immediately rescue or fix the problem theirselves. For my own opinion, hackers are actually full of knowledge and know more information than a usual people, they are willing to learn everything although it is a complicated systems or a learning that not everyone will interested in. The use term of 'hackers' has expanded. There are several terms that outline by Forester and Morison(1990):
1) Person who enjoys learning the details of computer systems.
2)Someone who have passion in programming.
3)Person who able to create programs quickly
4)Expert on particular program.
5)A malicious curious meddler who tries to discover information by poking around.Ex: password hacker.

Internet cultures (question)

Among all the questions, i was considered to choose either no.5, assess the roles and policies Malaysian Commission of Multimedia Communication and compare them with a similar organisation of another country. Which institution is more effective in serving the needs of the citizens. But, i ended up choosed question no. 6, because i not really understand the overall organization and not really into it after read it through several times.
So,question that i choosed is no.6, hackers are the heroes of the 21st century. Argue for or against this statement.
The reason i choosed this question is because I found out that it is an interesting topic for me. For my opinion, i feel that "hackers" is the trend for 21st century especially for those young adults. They keep thinking of "hack" whenever they're infront of computer. Most of the young adults like to hack somebody else account while playing games or even just hack into their friends social media account, ex: Facebook or twitter, it's like having fun of playing fool around with friends account.
What do we meant by hackers? Hackers are actually used to describe a programmer or someone who hacked our computer code. Other than that, hackers is also a term which associated with a gamer who is cheating while playing online games.
